Essential Oils for Focus & Energy

Do you struggle on a daily basis with exhaustion, fatigue, brain fog? I am with you my friend. You are not alone believe me. This is something that I would say most of us deal with at some point in time. Just so happens, I felt as though I was dealing with it on a daily basis. I would wake up tired. Every. Single. Day. I would feel as though I was in a fog throughout the day, not able to remain focused on any one thing. Adult ADHD? That’s how I felt. But I’m guessing it’s more of lack of sleep, too much stress, a million and one things going on in my brain and my ridiculous list of to-do items. You know, mom life, working woman life, married life. You get it.

Okay so other than telling you that you need to stress less and get more sleep, where you will immediately laugh your ass off at me and click away from this post, let’s talk other options.

You know that I do not promote internal taking of oils. I will advise against it every single time, in every single situation. I will be making a post on that topic alone in the next few days. If you want lemon in your water, slice up a real lemon. If you want the benefits lemon oil provides, you can inhale it, diffuse it or use it topically. You do not need to drink it.

Rant. Over. Now, let’s get to what oils you should use to help you with your focus and energy. That is after all why you are here right? Alrighty then, let’s get to it.

Let’s talk about energy. It’s 2:00pm and you are falling asleep at your desk. How in the world are you going to make it to 5:00 quitting time? Aside from a big steaming cup of coffee or tea, let’s try an inhaler. They are perfect to keep at work because they are so personal. They won’t impact anyone near you. Sometimes diffusing at work isn’t ideal because not everyone wants to smell your oils.

Let’s talk energy. Citrus oils are amazing for this.

  1. Lemon promotes positive energy

  2. Lime refreshes and uplifts

  3. Grapefruit is uplifting and promotes positive energy

  4. Peppermint is a must, it awakens and refreshes the senses

  5. Black Pepper supports low energy and mental fatigue

  6. Geranium is uplifting and stabilizing

  7.  Spike Lavender can stimulate vibrancy

Peppermint is going to be the one I recommend the most. It has a CNS Stimulant effect that increases subjective alertness, and may increase task motivation. So you can use it for both focus and energy – double duty baby!!! My favorite types of oils. It also provides emotional qualities of uplifting the mind to reduce fatigue and clears your energy, awakens and refreshes. Clear those Chakras. Don’t worry – I’ll have a full post on Chakras soon! You know, just in case you were interested.

Some of these oils can work double duty – my favorite kind of oils!

Just a side note, if you have tired or aching feet, Peppermint is your best friend. To a cool basin of water, add 1 TBSP carrier oil such as Jojoba and 1 drop of peppermint oil. Soak your feet for 10-15 minutes. They will thank you, you will thank me. 🙂

Now, let’s get some focus.

  1. Frankincense supports focused attention

  2. Sweet Orange uplifts the mind and spirit, can aid when feeling overwhelmed

  3. Laurel Leaf aid with mental clarity and focus

  4. Cardamom invites mental clarity and balance

  5. Peppermint which is great for encouraging focus and sharpening the mind

  6. Ravintsara aids in combating mental fatigue

How about some blends and recipes for uses.

  1. An inhaler for focus and energy:  5d Ravintsara, 5d Lemon, 2d Rosemary. You want to keep your inhalers to 10-15 drops total. You can adjust the recommended drops based on your aroma preferences.

  2. An uplifting inhaler that will provide focus and energy add 5d orange, 5d lime, 5d grapefruit

  3. Energizing inhaler would be 5d peppermint and 5 d sweet orange

  4. Diffuse Spike Lavender to promote alertness and reduce fatigue

  5. Diffuse Peppermint with Lime and Siberian Fir for an energizing blend

  6. Add 1-2 drops of Sweet Orange or Frankincense into 2 ounces of hand cream, you can add it right into what you buy at the store. It will not only be good for your skin but the scent will help with your focus and energy.

  7. In a 10ml rollerball, add 3d black pepper, 4d lemon, 2d ginger, 1d lavender

  8. Diffuse Peppermint, Lemon and Sweet Orange together, add drops based on your aroma preferences

If you need to purchase any oils, I have several available in my shop If they are not available in my shop, I recommend Rocky Mountain Oils. I am an affiliate for their company because I buy from them myself. I Es never recommend anything I don’t personally use. They are sourced responsibly, they are affordable and they provide the appropriate testing methods.

Alright my friends, I sure hope this post uplifts your soul and brings clarity to your mind. Until next time, sending you all much AromaLove. <3
